49 Interior Ministry Staff Resign, Including All 16 Water-Cannon Operators

Between December 25 and 29, 49 Ministry of Internal Affairs employees resigned over their role in dispersing protests, including the head of protest-dispersal operations and all 16 water-cannon operators. Former official Irakli Shaishmelashvili later said the violence had been carried out 'under orders' from ministry leadership.
