Israeli Drone Strike Kills Jaber Kamal Meqbel in Deir al-Balah; Vehicle Carrying His Body Struck Again Near Gaza City

At around 12:30 on September 24, 2026, an Israeli drone fired a missile at a vehicle in the northwestern part of Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, killing 35-year-old Jaber Kamal Jaber Meqbel and wounding eight others. Roughly three hours later, at around 15:20, a second Israeli drone fired a missile at a civilian vehicle transporting Meqbel's body near the al-Baydar area, southwest of Gaza City, wounding nine more Palestinians. The injured were taken to al-'Awda Hospital in Nuseirat, al-Shifa Medical Complex and al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah.
