IDF Kills Hamas Jabaliya Battalion Commander Ahmad Batash in Northern Gaza
The IDF said it killed Ahmad Batash, a commander in Hamas's Jabaliya Battalion (Northern Gaza Brigade), in a strike in northern Gaza overnight Monday, September 14 into Tuesday, September 15, 2026. The military said Batash managed logistics and weapons supply for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades' Northern Gaza Brigade and had recently led attacks on IDF troops and Israeli civilians 'in systematic violation of the ceasefire' — at least the fifth Hamas commander the IDF said it eliminated that week. Separately, Gaza's Health Ministry said Israeli fire killed at least two more Palestinians and wounded 25 across the Strip in the preceding 24 hours, including a Khan Younis strike, a Gaza City strike, and drone strikes on displacement tents in Khan Younis that wounded eight people, four of them children.
