Israeli attacks killed five Palestinians across the Gaza Strip in the 24 hours to Monday, September 7, 2026, despite the ongoing ceasefire. A drone strike on the Rimal neighborhood of western Gaza City killed Mohammad Atef Arafat Sukkar, 28, and wounded six others. A separate strike hit a vehicle in western Gaza City, killing Yousef Aqila and his 7-year-old daughter Wafaa as they returned home from buying school supplies days before she was due to start the new school year; six more were wounded. An Israeli artillery strike hit the Sakina School in Deir al-Balah, which is sheltering displaced people, killing 7-year-old first-grader Saadi Ghalia. Hassan Ali Saqallah, 19, was also killed in Gaza City. A further 17 people were wounded and received at hospitals in the 24-hour period, including a 6-year-old girl east of Bureij refugee camp, a girl in the Da'wa neighborhood north of Nuseirat, and two Palestinians near Hamad City north of Khan Younis. Gaza's Health Ministry said the cumulative toll since October 7, 2023 has reached at least 73,658 killed and 174,622 wounded, with 1,352 killed and 4,511 wounded since the October 2025 ceasefire took effect.
