Israeli Drone Strike and Gunfire Kill Two in Jabalia Despite Ceasefire

Israeli forces killed two Palestinians and wounded several others in Jabalia town and refugee camp, northern Gaza Strip, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Witnesses said Israeli forces opened fire toward tents housing displaced Palestinians in Jabalia town, while a separate Israeli drone strike hit a gathering of civilians in the Jabalia refugee camp. A medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital confirmed bodies and injured were brought there. The IDF had not commented at the time of reporting. Gaza's Health Ministry separately reported 8 Palestinians killed and 31 wounded strip-wide in the preceding 24 hours, pushing the cumulative death toll since October 7, 2023 to 73,470+ and the ceasefire-period toll to 1,334 killed and 4,429 wounded.
