7 Killed in 24 Hours Across Gaza; Separate Drone Strike Kills Palestinian in Khan Younis Displacement Tent
The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza said on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 that 7 Palestinians were killed and 10 others injured in Israeli attacks over the preceding 24 hours — 5 newly killed and 2 who died of earlier wounds. A medical source separately reported an Israeli drone strike on a tent sheltering displaced people in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, killing one more Palestinian. The ministry said the death toll from ceasefire violations since October 2025 has risen to 1,303 killed and 4,336 injured, while the cumulative total since October 7, 2023 stands at 73,438 killed and 174,447 injured. UN estimates put Gaza reconstruction costs at roughly $70 billion given the scale of damage to civilian infrastructure.
