8th EPC Summit & First EU-Armenia Summit — Yerevan Marks Armenia's European Pivot
The 8th European Political Community Summit convened in Yerevan, Armenia — the first EPC hosted outside the EU — under the motto 'Building the Future: Unity and Stability in Europe.' Leaders from 47 countries attended, with Canadian PM Mark Carney making history as the first non-European leader to participate. On the summit's sidelines, EU leaders held the first-ever bilateral EU-Armenia Summit with PM Nikol Pashinyan, confirming Armenia's strategic reorientation toward Europe following the 2023 Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the collapse of Russian security guarantees via CSTO. The EU-Armenia joint statement covered connectivity corridors, renewable energy export to Europe, and security assistance. The next EPC was confirmed for Ireland in November 2026.
