EP Votes EU Strategy on Middle East Crisis and Agricultural Energy Relief
The European Parliament voted on 17 legislative texts during its April plenary. MEPs adopted an EU strategy on the Middle East crisis calling for a ceasefire, humanitarian access, and a renewed two-state solution pathway. Parliament also passed a resolution on rising energy prices and fertiliser costs, calling on the Commission to use Strategic Energy Reserves and adjust the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) implementation timeline to protect European farmers from competitive disadvantage. Additionally, MEPs voted to allow EP members to delegate their votes during parental leave — a historic institutional reform affecting work-life balance in the Parliament.
