Tshisekedi Meets Netanyahu and Herzog in Jerusalem, Reaffirms DRC Sovereignty

| DRC Conflict

President Félix Tshisekedi held talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog in Jerusalem on Sept 1, days after launching DRC's national dialogue. Tshisekedi told his hosts that sovereignty and territorial integrity are "neither abstract nor negotiable" for the DRC, grounding the position in the UN Charter amid the more-than-three-year AFC/M23 occupation of parts of North and South Kivu that Kinshasa says is backed by Rwanda; the implementation of the DRC-Rwanda peace agreement was also discussed. The two sides agreed to deepen cooperation on agriculture and food security, water, health, technology, security and training, and investment, building on Herzog's November 2025 visit to Kinshasa that marked Israel's return to the DRC after 40 years without formal ties.
