APDEF: ADF Kill 43 Civilians Across 15 Mambasa-Area Villages in Six-Day Campaign
Local monitoring group APDEF Mambasa reported that ADF attacks between Aug 27 and Sept 1 killed at least 43 civilians, burned 53 houses and looted property across 15 localities in Mambasa territory and neighboring Irumu territory, Ituri — Biamu, Mabakuha, Amani, Mahili, Pangite, Lelesi, Kalongo, Bumaere, Kabadjene, Ndakolo, Epululase, Tentera, Kakule, Malimba and Sukisa in Mambasa, plus Bandikafu, Bamande and Bandeseibo in Irumu. The tally encompasses and expands on the Aug 28-29 twin attacks on Mabakuha and Amani villages already logged in this tracker (previously reported at ~21 killed), which APDEF's wider six-day count folds into a larger campaign toll. APDEF said several bodies remained unburied and multiple residents were missing, with no official FARDC or government statement recorded as of Sept 2, and warned that suspected attackers were still moving through the area, disrupting the planned Sept 1 school reopening.
