ADF Kills at Least 21 Civilians in Two Attacks Near Mambasa, Ituri
ADF combatants struck Mabakuha and Amani villages in the Babila Teturi grouping, Babila Babombi chiefdom, Mambasa territory (Ituri), on the night of Aug 28-29 — more than 30km west of Biakato-Centre. A provisional toll put 10 dead in Mabakuha and at least 7-11 dead in Amani (roughly 21 civilians combined), where attackers also burned about 20 houses; a hospital and a church were among the structures torched across the two sites. Local security source APDEF Mambasa and civil society group NSCC said several residents remain missing and displaced, with no official FARDC or government statement issued at time of reporting. NSCC's Babila Babombi coordinator, Muhindo Mamboro Peresi, called for reinforced military operations and demanded authorities track suspected Maï-Maï elements alleged to be collaborating with ADF fighters.
