US and DRC Sign Strategic Minerals Partnership

Washington and Kinshasa signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement giving US companies preferential access to Congolese cobalt, copper and coltan — the commercial complement to the Washington Accords that the Trump administration had pursued since Tshisekedi's February 2025 minerals-for-security offer.
