Nigeria Unveils National Digital Training Academy to Scale AI and Cybersecurity Skills

Nigeria's Education Minister Olatunji Alausa unveiled the National Digital Training Academy (DTA) on August 7, 2026, a federal initiative to equip Nigerian youth with globally recognized certifications in Artificial Intelligence, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, IT automation, and product management. The Academy will be delivered by the Federal Ministry of Education in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy through the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme. The announcement coincided with the graduation of 928 beneficiaries from the World Bank-assisted IDEAS Project's one-year professional diploma programme in Dutse, Jigawa State, delivered with Baze University.
