Starlink Goes Live in Seychelles, Reaching 28th African Market
Starlink became fully operational across Seychelles' 115 islands on July 18, 2026 — two days after switching on in Côte d'Ivoire — confirmed by Seychelles Vice President Sebastien Pillay. The Seychelles Cabinet had approved an Internet Service Provider licence for Starlink in February 2026. The launch brings SpaceX's satellite broadband service to 28 of Africa's 54 countries, extending reliable connectivity to a dispersed island nation where terrestrial fibre and cable deployment is economically difficult.
