Díaz-Canel Calls for Regime Defenders to Take Streets

President Díaz-Canel went on national television and called on 'all revolutionaries' and Communist Party members to go to the streets to confront protesters, saying 'the order to fight has been given.' Security forces, plainclothes agents (boinas negras), and civilian brigades were deployed. The internet was cut off across Cuba within hours of the protests beginning.
