US and Cuban Embassies Reopen

The United States and Cuba formally reopened their embassies in Washington and Havana, restoring full diplomatic relations for the first time since 1961. Secretary of State John Kerry visited Havana in August for the US Embassy flag-raising ceremony. Commercial flights and cruise ships to Cuba resumed.
