Hyundai Motor Group and 9 Partners Sign Hong Kong Green Hydrogen Ecosystem MOU — 2030 Target Set

| Climate Solutions

At the International Hydrogen Development Symposium 2026 in Hong Kong, ten organizations — including Hyundai Motor Company, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, JING, Towngas (HK and China Gas Co.), Veolia, and others — signed an MOU to build Hong Kong's comprehensive, self-sustaining green hydrogen ecosystem by end-2030. The agreement covers green hydrogen production from landfill biogas (waste-to-hydrogen), hydrogen fuel-cell commercial vehicles and generators, and hydrogen refueling infrastructure. The deal marks a significant expansion of Hyundai's Asia-Pacific hydrogen strategy and advances the city's decarbonization plan. Hong Kong aims to deploy 1,000+ hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles by 2030 under the agreement.
