Kast Previews Labor Emergency Plan to Ruling Coalition Leaders

Facing 9.5% unemployment (May–July quarter), President Kast met ruling-coalition party leaders — Evópoli's Luciano Cruz-Coke, RN's Andrea Balladares, UDI's Guillermo Ramírez and the Republicans' Arturo Squella — at La Moneda to preview a multi-ministry 'emergency labor plan' spanning Finance, Labor, Public Works, Housing and the regional-development subsecretariat. The plan, to be formally presented after Fiestas Patrias, would combine subsidies and accelerated public-works, housing and regional projects aimed at job creation through the end of the year; coalition leaders committed to fast-track any resulting legislation.
