SSC-CDMX Detains Seven Gang Members Tied to Extortion, Home Robbery and Killings

Mexico City's Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana (SSC), working with the Fiscalía General de Justicia, announced the detention of seven suspected members (one woman, six men) of a criminal cell operating in the capital and accused of extortion, aggravated home robbery, and homicides. Officials said the arrests followed an investigation tracing back to an armed attack, with authorities citing the operation as part of the broader anti-extortion strategy that has produced more than 330 detentions since January 2025.
