The federal government published a decree ordering home office, flexible schedules, and early closure (3:00 PM) of federal offices in Mexico City and the Guadalajara metro area for the afternoon of June 17 and all of June 24, 2026, coinciding with FIFA World Cup matches. The measure, coordinated with the CDMX government, aimed to reduce pressure on urban mobility, preserve road safety, and avoid disruption to public services during peak tournament traffic. The private sector was also urged to adopt remote or flexible work schemes for non-essential activities on those dates.
