Pear Lake Fire Status Upgraded to 'Being Held' as Remaining Evacuation Alert Rescinded

BC's second-largest fire of the season was reclassified from 'out of control' to 'being held' as of Sept 5, holding at 165,909 hectares as most of its perimeter secured. The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District rescinded the remaining evacuation alert for Electoral Area B the same day, though the Whispering Pines/Clinton Indian Band and Stswecem'c Xget'tem First Nation evacuation orders in the area remain in effect.
