BRICS Tourism Ministers Adopt Jaipur Declaration
India's Ministry of Tourism hosted the BRICS Tourism Track under its 2026 Chairship, culminating in the Tourism Ministers' Meeting in Jaipur on August 21, 2026, chaired by Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. Ministers and delegations from Brazil, Iran, South Africa, the UAE, China, Ethiopia, Indonesia and Russia adopted the Jaipur Declaration (BRICS Tourism Ministers' Communique 2026) by consensus, building on the 2nd BRICS 2026 Tourism Working Group meeting held August 19 and chaired by Tourism Secretary Bhuvnesh Kumar. The Declaration commits to four priorities: AI and tourism; sustainability and responsible tourism; tourism skilling and capacity building; and tourism exchanges and seamless travel facilitation, recognizing the potential of 'responsible, safe and human-centred artificial intelligence' to transform the sector. Delegates toured Jaipur heritage sites including Hawa Mahal, City Palace and Amber Palace on August 20.
