BRICS Inaugural Tourism Working Group Meets Under India's 2026 Chairship

India convened the inaugural BRICS 2026 Tourism Working Group meeting in virtual mode on May 25, under the chairship theme 'Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.' The session brought together tourism officials from all 10 BRICS member states to develop cross-bloc cooperation frameworks covering visa facilitation, heritage tourism corridors, and digital infrastructure for intra-BRICS travel — priorities ahead of the September 12-13 New Delhi summit. India's Ministry of Tourism chairs the working group, which will channel recommendations directly into the Leaders' Summit declaration. The session marks the first time tourism has featured as a dedicated working-group track in BRICS's annual chairmanship cycle, reflecting India's broader 'Humanity First' agenda of deepening people-to-people ties across the expanded 10-member bloc.
