FEJUVE Declares El Alto Emergency; Oil Field Occupied

El Alto's neighborhood council federation FEJUVE declared a city-wide state of emergency and demanded Paz's resignation. Protesters occupied and set fires at the Humberto Suárez oil field. El Alto Mayor Eliser Roca said the city was losing roughly $6.5 million per day. Defence Minister Marcelo Salinas and Education Minister Beatriz García de Achá resigned.
