CATL Begins Trial Production at 100 GWh Debrecen, Hungary Cell Plant

CATL started trial production on the first two cell manufacturing lines at its Debrecen, Hungary plant after clearing regulatory hurdles tied to an August nickel-exposure safety incident and obtaining its occupancy permit. Once ramped, the site will be CATL's largest manufacturing base outside China at 100 GWh planned capacity, supplying major European automakers; the plant has separately produced 537,000 battery modules since late 2024.
