CATL Partners With Moura for Brazil's National Storage Auction, Debuts Sodium-Ion in Brazil
CATL announced a strategic partnership with Brazilian battery maker Moura on August 29, 2026 (showcased at The Smarter E South America in São Paulo, Aug 25-27) to jointly bid into Brazil's first national energy-storage capacity auction, LRCAP 2026, which drew more than 6,000 bids. CATL holds an estimated 45% share of Brazil's energy-storage market and operates Registro, the country's first transmission-level battery storage system. The company also introduced its TENER Sodium system — a 30 MWh sodium-ion container with a 20-year design life and 95% round-trip efficiency — to the Brazilian market for the first time. CATL's global energy-storage battery revenue reached RMB 53.26 billion (~$7.9 billion) in H1 2026, up 87.5% year-on-year.
