Hyundai and Kia Recall 14 EVs Over SK On Battery Cell Fire Risk

Hyundai and Kia issued twin recalls covering just 14 vehicles combined — six 2023–2024 Ioniq 5 units and seven 2022–2024 EV6 plus one 2024 EV9 — over defective SK On battery cells with misaligned electrodes that could cause an internal short circuit and fire. Until repairs are completed, owners are told to limit charging to 80% state of charge and park outdoors, away from structures.
