Mobile Launcher 1 Rolls from LC-39B to VAB — Artemis III Stacking Preparations Begin

NASA's Mobile Launcher 1 began rolling from Launch Complex 39B back to the Vehicle Assembly Building at 8:11 a.m. EDT on Crawler-Transporter 2, completing approximately a 4-mile trek. The relocation follows the successful conclusion of the Artemis II mission and clears the launch pad for Artemis III preparations. Teams will perform essential checkouts, inspections, and repairs on ML-1 before stacking SLS and Orion for the Artemis III mission, which is redesignated as a low-Earth orbit rendezvous and docking test and targeted for launch next year. The rollout marks the formal transition from Artemis II post-flight operations to Artemis III launch campaign activities.
