ISPR said security forces killed 48 militants belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij across Balochistan over 48-72 hours through September 4, 2026 — the province's largest toll since the August 21 nationwide sweep. The single largest action was in the Shaban area of Quetta district, where forces identified four militant hideouts and killed 26 fighters in an intense exchange of fire; further operations killed 6 in Mastung, 2 in Kalat and 2 in the Bagh area of Sibi district. The military said it would continue operations 'under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision until the elimination of the last terrorist.' President Asif Ali Zardari said more than 1,188 terrorists have been killed in Balochistan in 2026 alone, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the forces involved.
