Rangers, CTD Arrest TTP-Linked Financier in Karachi with Waziristan Ties

Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and the Counter Terrorism Department arrested Shahzad, alias 'Dunger,' in a joint operation in Jacob Lines, Jamshed Town, Karachi. Authorities said he joined the Mansoor faction of TTP in 2025 and was tasked with raising funds for the group in Karachi, collecting monthly contributions from Manghopir residents and transferring the money to Waziristan via Easypaisa accounts managed by an associate in Tank. He reportedly made multiple trips to Waziristan for meetings, including one with faction leader Mansoor in Birmal — an Afghan border area — in June 2026, where he was instructed to expand the network for terrorism and extortion in Karachi and allegedly received weapons and explosives for planned attacks on sensitive locations.
