Germany Surrenders — V-E Day

Germany signed the unconditional surrender instrument at Reims (May 7) and Berlin-Karlshorst (May 8), accepted by Allied Supreme Commander Eisenhower and Soviet Marshal Zhukov. V-E Day (Victory in Europe) was celebrated across the Allied world. The war in Europe had lasted 2,174 days from the invasion of Poland.
