Israel Football Association Withdraws Support for Infantino
The Israel Football Association (IFA) board voted unanimously to retract its earlier letter of support for Gianni Infantino's FIFA presidential re-election. IFA chief and UEFA executive committee member Moshe Zuares said: "We have no choice but to retract our previous letter of support, in the sincere hope that fruitful dialogue among all parties will eventually restore a shared, proper vision and direction for world football." The withdrawal came a day after FIFA fired COO Kevin Lamour for publicly criticizing Infantino's abandoned World Cup stake-sale plan, and adds Israel to a lengthening list of federations — including Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, New Zealand, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Serbia, and Finland — that have broken with Infantino ahead of the March 2027 FIFA Congress.
