Scottish FA Withdraws Support for Infantino
The Scottish Football Association became the latest federation to publicly withdraw its backing for Gianni Infantino's FIFA presidential re-election. SFA chief executive Ian Maxwell said "The Scottish FA will not be voting for Gianni Infantino. That's in line with the UEFA position," citing a lack of transparency: "There's been a fall-down in governance, there's been a lack of transparency, there's been a lack of engagement with member associations... The game is for everybody, it's not for individuals to make decisions." Scotland joins Ireland, England, and Wales among UK and Irish federations opposing Infantino ahead of the March 2027 FIFA presidential vote.
