FSE & Euroconsumers File EU Commission Complaint Against FIFA Over Ticket Prices

| World Cup 2026

Football Supporters Europe (FSE) and Euroconsumers filed a formal complaint with the European Commission on April 3 alleging FIFA abused its dominant market position to impose excessive ticket prices for the 2026 World Cup. The complaint cites Final ticket face values reaching $10,990 (up from $8,680) with secondary prices hitting $143,750 — 41 times face value — on FIFA's own resale platform. The organizations called for an EU competition law investigation. The complaint follows a formal US Congress letter calling the tournament 'the most financially exclusionary ever' and the April 2 website glitch that left fans in the wrong queue for 90+ minutes. FIFA has not publicly responded.
