Italy defeated Northern Ireland 2–0 at Stadio di Bergamo to advance to the 2026 World Cup UEFA Playoff Path A final on March 31. Sandro Tonali opened the scoring early in the second half and Moise Kean added a second goal to seal Italy's place in the final, keeping the Azzurri firmly on course to avoid a historic third consecutive World Cup absence after missing out in 2018 and 2022. Italy will face Bosnia-Herzegovina in the Path A final on March 31 for one of Europe's final four World Cup berths.
