CDC weekly update: 4,410 confirmed measles cases in 2026

CDC's Oct 16 update (data through Oct 15) reports 4,410 confirmed 2026 cases, up 330 (8.1%) in a week and about 93% above the 2,289 cases in all of 2025. 47 jurisdictions have reported cases; 42 outbreaks, 96% of cases outbreak-associated; 451 hospitalizations (10%), 37 more than last week. Pennsylvania has at least 1,200 cases and six deaths, requested CDC Epi-Aid support, and CDC plans to send a disease detective.
