| Cyclosporiasis Outbreak

CDC's Sept 1 data refresh (covering the season through Aug 31) lifts the national lab-confirmed cyclosporiasis total to 18,445, up 1,265 from the Aug 25 figure of 17,180, with season-wide hospitalizations rising to 990 (from 922). The outbreak now spans 49 states plus DC, up from 48. CDC still lists 13,505 additional cases as non-lab-confirmed or pending, plus a further 3,491 cases awaiting classification of domestic vs. international acquisition. The two Michigan deaths remain unchanged. This is a season-wide, all-clusters total distinct from the narrower Taylor Farms/Taco Bell multistate outbreak count, which CDC's outbreak-specific page still lists at 11,458 illnesses across 20 states as of Aug 27.
