House Passes Sunshine Protection Act, Making Daylight Saving Time Permanent

The House passed the Trump-backed Sunshine Protection Act 308-117, which would eliminate the twice-yearly clock change and keep the country on the time currently observed March-November (states retain an option to opt out before the law takes effect). The bill now heads to the Senate, where a companion measure previously stalled after Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) objected over concerns about dark winter mornings.
