Russian Glide Bombs Kill Up to 3 at Sumy Family Support Centre, 28 Injured Including Children

Russian forces struck Sumy with three glide bombs on the evening of September 26, hitting near a family/cultural support centre and damaging two kindergartens, dozens of residential buildings, administrative buildings and over 20 vehicles. Sumy Oblast Governor Oleh Hryhorov initially reported 2 killed and 23 injured, including 4 children — three girls aged 14 and 8 and an 11-month-old infant, plus two adults, were hospitalized. By September 27, Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi said the confirmed toll had risen to 3 killed, including a 16-year-old girl, with the regional injury count reaching 28 as further victims were treated. The strike came days after Trump and Zelensky met at the UN to discuss a ceasefire, despite which Russia continued large-scale attacks.
