Ukraine Reveals New Operation Vivaldi Gains Near Lyman, Donetsk Oblast

Ukraine's 3rd Army Corps announced new gains from its 'Operation Vivaldi' counteroffensive around Lyman in northern Donetsk Oblast, first made public on September 15 after being tracked by OSINT researchers since late spring. Corps commander Brig. Gen. Andrii Biletskyi said troops liberated the villages of Shandryholove and Derylove and established full control over Drobysheve, reclaiming roughly 40 sq km of territory in the operation's second stage — bringing total gains across both stages to approximately 125 sq km, of which 50 sq km has been fully liberated. 'As promised, I am reporting good news,' Biletskyi said. The gains reverse the northern pincer of Russia's push on Lyman, which had been one of the most pressured sectors of the Donetsk front.
