Russian Drone Strike Closes Ukraine-Moldova Border Crossing for Second Night in a Row

| Ukraine

Russia struck the Tabaki international border crossing with Moldova in Odesa Oblast overnight, damaging buildings and structures and starting fires that forced the checkpoint to close, with traffic redirected to other crossings. Moldova's Defense Ministry said preliminary information indicated the drone was a Shahed-136 (Geran-2). It was the second consecutive night Russia struck a Ukraine-Moldova crossing, following an attack on the nearby Reni-Giurgiulesti checkpoint during the large-scale overnight assault on Kyiv on August 20. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said the strikes were 'not isolated cases,' warning Russia is testing the resolve of NATO and its partners by violating neighboring states' sovereignty.
