Russian Drones Destroy Amstor Shopping Mall in Zaporizhzhia

| Ukraine War

Russian drones struck the Amstor shopping mall on the right bank of Zaporizhzhia late on September 17 into September 18, igniting a massive fire that spread across more than 10,000 square meters and left the complex, in the words of Ukraine's State Emergency Service, "practically destroyed." Firefighters repeatedly had to take shelter from the threat of further strikes before completing the response on the morning of September 18. Local media reported children sheltering in a nearby skatepark survived by taking cover in concrete recesses; other civilian infrastructure including buses, bus stops and businesses were also damaged in the wider barrage.
