Russian Drones Strike Kyiv University During Classes and Residential Building, Injuring at Least 13

Russian drone strikes hit Kyiv on the morning of September 2, injuring at least 13 people on the seventh consecutive day of near-continuous attacks on the capital. Drones struck the National University of Food Technology in the city center while roughly 160 students were sheltering inside; President Zelensky said no students were hurt. A six-story residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district sustained damage and a nearby medical facility was hit, wounding two doctors who were hospitalized. In Holosiivskyi district, a fire broke out at an educational institution and a warehouse was damaged, coming just after Ukrainian children returned to school for the new academic year. Ukraine's air defense neutralized 141 of 174 weapons Russia used overnight, and power outages from the sustained bombardment affected five regions, with Odesa region hit hardest.
