Ukrainian Drones Set Russia's Fourth-Largest Refinery Ablaze in Kstovo, 800km from the Border
Ukraine's General Staff confirmed a drone strike overnight into August 26 on Lukoil's NORSI refinery in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast — roughly 800km from the Ukrainian border. The facility, Russia's fourth-largest oil refinery and second-largest gasoline producer with a capacity of 15–17 million tonnes of crude a year, caught fire after the impact. President Zelensky said Ukraine struck 16 targets across Russia that day, including oil facilities, military installations, and logistics hubs. NORSI has been hit repeatedly through 2026, with prior strikes on April 5, May 20, June 24, and July 2.
