Zelensky Arrives in Yerevan for 8th European Political Community Summit — First-Ever Visit to Armenia
President Zelensky arrived in Yerevan, Armenia on May 3 for the 8th European Political Community summit — his first-ever visit to the country. The summit brought together 48 European leaders under the theme 'Building the Future: Unity and Stability in Europe.' Zelensky set three key objectives: (1) advancing a 'dignified end to the war'; (2) implementing the EU's €90 billion interest-free loan to Kyiv approved in April 2026; (3) strengthening Ukraine's air defenses and energy infrastructure. He held bilateral meetings with the prime ministers of the UK, Norway, Finland, and Czech Republic. A 'Washington Format' meeting was also held on the sidelines, focused on Ukraine's security situation. The summit represents continued European diplomatic solidarity with Ukraine as ceasefire discussions remain stalled and Russia continues its aerial bombardment campaign.
