Ukrainian Drones Strike Yaroslavl Oil Refinery (~1,000 km from Front) and PhosAgro Fertilizer Plant — Second Deep-Strike Attack in April
Ukraine conducted major long-range drone strikes deep inside Russia overnight into April 26. Ukrainian drones hit the Yaroslavl oil refinery, one of Russia's largest refineries, located approximately 1,000 km from the front lines. The facility processes 15 million tons of oil per year and produces gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel critical for Russian military logistics. Fires were reported burning at the facility. Separately, Ukrainian drones struck the PhosAgro PJSC fertilizer plant in northwest Russia for the second time in April 2026, targeting Russia's agricultural export capacity. Bloomberg confirmed both strikes. Ukraine also conducted strike attempts against Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk, both 2,000+ km from the front, extending the range of Ukraine's deep-strike campaign into the Ural industrial region. The Tuapse refinery continued burning for a third day following prior Ukrainian strikes, described as creating an 'ecological disaster.' These operations are part of Ukraine's strategic campaign to degrade Russia's refining capacity, energy export revenue, and military logistics — following the earlier suspension of Russia's gasoline exports (April 1, 2026) due to cumulative refinery damage.
