Russia's Defense Ministry formally declared on April 1–2 that its forces have 'completed the liberation' of Luhansk Oblast — Ukraine had controlled just ~0.2% of the region. Ukraine's General Staff reported approximately 64 combat clashes on April 2 (Day 1,498 of the full-scale invasion). Cumulative Russian military personnel losses reached approximately 1,300,030 since February 24, 2022 — with roughly 1,300 killed or wounded in the 24-hour period.
