| Ukraine War

A Russian drone strike struck Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on April 1, injuring 11 people including a child and damaging infrastructure. Separately, a Russian strike on railway infrastructure in Sloviansk (Donetsk Oblast) wounded 4 people, one critically. Residual fires from Russia's late March 31 multi-region barrage continued to be extinguished into April 1 in Lutsk, where drone debris damaged an apartment building, a food warehouse, and a Nova Poshta logistics terminal. A 6-year-old girl who was critically injured in a Russian strike on Sumy region on March 28 died in hospital, raising civilian toll from that attack. In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, 975 shelling incidents were recorded across 42 settlements in 24 hours. Ukraine's air defenses remained active across multiple regions overnight. Russia's sustained campaign against civilian infrastructure continued despite Zelenskyy's Easter ceasefire and energy truce proposals.
