FOIA Release Details AARO's 2025 Private UAP Data Workshop and Foreign Outreach to Uruguay's CRIDOVNI

FOIA documents obtained by The Black Vault and published Sept 25, 2026 revealed new details of an invite-only AARO-sponsored workshop held Aug 5-6, 2025 at Associated Universities, Inc. in Vienna, Virginia, bringing together roughly 40 government, academic, and independent researchers to work on standardizing narrative UAP report data and applying machine learning to large datasets. The records identify speakers and panelists including Robert Powell of the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies, Harvard Center for Astrophysics researcher Laura Domine, machine-learning engineer Abigail Haddad, University of Texas professor Elliott Hauser, National UFO Reporting Center's Christian Stepien, and Rice University archivists. Separately, the documents show AARO arranged bilateral engagement with CRIDOVNI, Uruguay's UAP investigative commission (active since 1979, one of the world's longest-running government UFO bodies) — including a planned Aug 4, 2025 Pentagon meeting with reciprocal mission briefings, where AARO Director Jon Kosloski hosted the Uruguayan delegation for lunch and a private Pentagon tour to discuss future collaboration on analytical methods. Uruguay is positioning itself to host a subsequent South American regional workshop to standardize regional UAP data collection. Internal correspondence in the released records also notes AARO was already planning a follow-on data workshop before the first one had even occurred.
