Trump signs the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, a $2.2 trillion stimulus package — the largest in US history at that time. It includes $1,200 direct payments to individuals, $600/week enhanced unemployment benefits, $500 billion in loans to corporations, and $349 billion in Paycheck Protection Program loans for small businesses.
